Kahn Architecture was retained as the “architect of record” for this Manhattan high-end flagship store in a landmark district of SoHo. Working with their “design architect,” Studio Cavalchini of Milan, we coordinated the unique aesthetics, inspired by the actual products that would be showcased. Set on two floors, the main level featured light boxes, each with a unique “still life” showcasing the light fixtures. Due to the unique conditions required in the City of New York, a Landmarks Preservation filing package was necessary for approvals. This process involved taking the schematic design from the “design architect” and creating an approvable filing set.
